ELO LOVES !

Today i will be blogging abit about this beautiful and peaceful place YONGIN !

"Yongin is a major city in the Seoul Capital Area, located in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. With a population of nearly 1 million, the city has developed abruptly since the 21st century, recording the highest population growth of any city in the country. Yongin is home to Everland and Caribbean Bay, South Korea's most popular amusement and water parks. The city is also home to the Korean Folk Village, the largest of its kind."

"Yongin is a city almost as large as Seoul by area, consisting of the highly urbanized districts of Suji-gu and Giheung-gu and the semi-urbanized district of Cheoin-gu. Yongin's urbanized districts are located close to the capital and many commute to and from downtown Seoul in approximately 30–40 minutes by cars using the Gyeongbu Expressway or Yongin-Seoul Expressway, the Bundang Line subway, the Shinbundang Linesubway or metropolitan buses. The Shinbundang Line with a maximum speed of 110 km/h will extend to Suji-gu in late 2015, which will allow Yongin residents to travel to Gangnam Station in 20–30 minutes. The Bundang Line extended south to Giheung Station on December 2011, connecting to EverLine that extends all the way to Everland. On December 2013, the Bundang Line extended to Suwon Station of Seoul Subway Line 1."

My 2 days 1 night trip to Yongin from Seoul . . .

Didn't manage to venture to alot of places as my sister falls ill during the trip so ended up scrolling around the area... but still, let me show you some nice places and hotel in Yongin!

THIS IS YONGIN !

(The place where we alight)

(Take bus 5000 or 5005 from Seoul Station)

(approx. 1 hr 30mins)

(This is the hotel that i am staying, just behind the bus stop, kinda convenient with eatery places and a convenience store nearby. In Yongin, there are only afew hotels and this is a new boutique hotel but take note in the few below pictures as the whole hotel is kinda dark and alittle errie... thats when my sis check-in her room and she felt sick all the way till we went back to seoul...(just guessing)... and very quiet... besides that, i guess this is a nice hotel with stylish rooms and for people with positive minds!) and reasonable pricing! We stayed in standard room and link below if you wanna find out more about the hotel~)

We paid approx. 180,000 won per night!

This is the lobby area

Nice? This is the lobby !

This is the room (Standard)

Toilet is HUGE !

My recommendation for tourist going there, if you are going to visit Everland Theme Park, Do stay a night at Yongin so it wouldn't be too rush for you as everland is big and takes about 1 full day or more to explore the whole theme park! Otherwise, it is good for a day trip too~

(KOREAN FOLK VILLAGE)

Hanok Village (Yongin) is a place filled with beautiful sceneries everywhere displaying the history and experiencing the natural atmosphere with over 260 traditional houses reminiscent of the late Joseon Dynasty, including various household goods from different regions. All these features have been relocated and restored to provide visitors with a broad understanding of Korean food, clothing, and housing style of the past. About twenty workshops, various handicrafts such as pottery, baskets, winnows, bamboo wares, wooden wares, paper, brass wares, knots, fans, musical instruments, iron wares and embroidery are practiced. In the Korean Folk Village, where the customs and lifestyles of the past generations have been carefully preserved, various lifestyles prevalent during the Joseon Dynasty can be seen. A specail event called 'Welcome to the Joseon' will allow visitors to time travel to the period and is to be held each year in May. The entertainment facilities includes a big family park themed with valcano expolosion caves, the only one volcano park in Korea as well as Folk Traditional Market where visitors can enjoy korean traditional food such as rice cakes and alcoholic drinks. You can visit the Folk Museum as well as the Art Museum (scheduled to open) to see and learn about the essence of Korean culture and folk customs, which are not suitable for display and re-creating in the open-air setting. Korean Folk Village is also the filming location for the famous movie Scandal as well as the TV miniseries Daejanggeum.
