Ferries
Choosing the right ferry is important for a safer and enjoyable trip!
Been trying afew ferries from different ferry agencies and i must say my favourite would be HORIZON FAST FERRY!
(Which is previously named as Prima Ferries)
why? Because they are using new & fast ferries that only takes you approx. 30mins to reach batam. The internal area of the ferry is NEW and clean and it's a non-smoking ferry. Seats are super comfortable and with just a $8 upgrade (one way), you get to enjoy their BUSINESS CLASS with super comfortable spacious leather seats, quiet time with your loved ones, servers to serve you some drinks and snacks, pirority arrival and at the upper deck of the ferry,
you won't feel nauseous!
(Prima Ferries only cater to visitors arriving at Harbour Bay so if you are staying near nagoya, this is the best choice! For more information, do click the link above)

There are other Ferries that you might wanna consider too:
HOTELS
Hotels are important too for more convenience and easy access to various places!
I will be introducing afew hotels at different locations in batam for different purpose of stay
Super convenient and just opp. Nagoya Hill Plaza (Most Favourable Shopping Mall in BATAM)
My Review: Price is slightly higher than other hotels around that area and it's super convenient however, rooms are not very clean since it's a new hotel ( cuz' i found a croach in my room =/ )
Breakfast sucks to be honest and they are alittle stuck up when i previously had some issues on booking via their website, called their hotline (damn overseas call) and they have some attitude issues and stated over in their website that we can have a late checkout at 3pm (bear in mind i went on a normal wednesday) and without asking me on request, they insisted that NO! we are fully book???
NO! LATE CHECKOUT unless you pay =? mmmm
oh well, unless if you really want super convenience, Nagoya Hill Hotel is your choice!

About 10mins short walk to Nagoya Shopping Area, you can access thru the back door of the hotel.
Please note as there are afew Harmoni Hotels in BATAM, i am talking about the HARMONI SUITES!
My Review: Cab ride from harbour bay ferry terminal to this hotel approx. 10mins, Quite convenient about 10mins short walk to nagoya mall, hotel staffs are super friendly and humble (which is good) and they attended to our needs when we have any questions about getting around (which is good). Unfortunately the rooms are abit old and dark with hard beds (individual preferences on bedding) however, breakfast comes with various range of varieties which is awesome!
Given the cheap & reasonable price plus the staff service, i would stay here again!

Harris hotel (BATAM CENTER) is situated opp. Batam Center Mega Mall, just beside Batam Center Ferry Terminal.
My Review: Super near to batam center ferry terminal and you can book your ferry at a later time if you wanna given that the hotel gives options for a late checkout at a reasonable pricing (No Rush).
As for the rooms are quite standard and don't expect much. I didn't go for the breakfast so i can't review on that. Bascially a room just for resting but i would recommend you to try their ROOM SERVICE cuz' the food is quite nice HAHHASSS!! Not too expensive but a experience maybe?
Hotel cab to nagoya is available for hire . . .
As for the Mega mall, it's more like a dead mall? not much people... not much shops.... some restaurants and that's about it. Ohya, price for the stay at Harris Hotel is cheap for approx. 60bucks per night so for just a place to rest, this might be a good choice!

Harris hotel (WATERFRONT) is situated about 8mins ride from Waterfront Ferry terminal. (Watersports and other activities available)
My review: For some watersports or outdoor/indoor activities, this hotel provides both. It's situated at the end of batam so travelling to town is further approx. 45mins to an hour however, they cater free shuttle service to afew places in town so maybe you can check out via the above link. Taxis are also available. This hotel provides different types of room at different rates so you might wanna check out too. For watersports and other activities lovers, this might be one of your choice.

Situated at approx. 5mins from Nongsapura Ferry Terminal
(Ferry from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal)
My Review: About 35mins from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal, Relaxing resort for beach lovers BUT beware of monkeys and snakes and do not leave your door or balcony open at ALL TIMES! =D
Super spacious rooms and lots of watersports and activities around the resort but lots of STAIRS too!
Away from town area however shuttle services from resort to town is available too.
For activities like flyboard, wakeboarding, parasailing and many more other activities, this place would be a good choice for you if you enjoy nature and sports!

This hotel is situated approx. 3mins from waterfront ferry terminal
My Review: Rated Top among most hotels in batam, super service from all staffs from this hotel, one of my regular stays in batam if i wanna go for a more relaxation trip, away from town. Their Award-Winning Tea Tree Spa is a Balinese-style spa with spacious villas and private treatment rooms. The Spa offers a wide range of services to rejuvenate the senses. A must try! For a more premier stay during your trip, this hotel caters only Suites 1 or 2 bedroom, a big swimming pool, Spend time planning your day over the breakfast buffet in their sunlit Terrace Cafe. With 3 other restaurants at the hotel, you can choose between Thai and Chinese food, or sip cocktails in the Sports Lounge while live music plays in the background. For Amenities like Health/Fitness Center, Entertainment and Recreation or gift shops are available. Side note: BREAKFAST IS GOOD! A recommendable choice for a relaxing stay!
